ASEAN / RCEP Trade

The Philippines is a founding ASEAN member covered by AFTA preferential tariffs under the ATIGA agreement, and an RCEP signatory alongside China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand — extending preferential market access across the Asia-Pacific region. Both frameworks require correct certificate-of-origin documentation and ASEAN-or-RCEP-specific invoice declarations for preferential treatment to be granted at the border.

01
Obstacle

The company ships to ASEAN partner states but cannot determine quickly which shipments qualify for AFTA preferential tariffs — leading to standard MFN duties being paid unnecessarily.

Solution

Supply chain documents and invoices that automatically flag ASEAN or RCEP origin and include the required certificate-of-origin reference, enabling preferential treatment at every border crossing.

02
Obstacle

ASEAN and non-ASEAN export invoices are handled identically in the ERP, causing customs declarations to omit the preferential origin claim.

Solution

Distinct ASEAN/RCEP trade route logic in the invoicing and ERP modules, with correct origin fields and declaration language per shipment destination.

ASEAN and RCEP shipments, preferential tariffs applied

Correct origin documentation and trade-bloc-aware invoice declarations.
