Restaurants & Hospitality
Restaurant operators don't have a finance problem, they have an integration problem. Toast or Square hands you daily sales; Gusto handles payroll; a stack of invoices from US Foods and Sysco arrives by email; the bookkeeper consolidates it all next week. 4b2b imports POS daily sales, vendor invoices and labor hours into a single operating P&L so you see prime cost — food + beverage + labor — as a percentage of sales every morning.
Where the pain shows up
Pain point
POS daily-sales summaries arrive as one journal entry per day. Detail-level item analysis (which menu items moved, void rate, comp rate) sits in the POS and never reaches accounting.
How 4b2b helps
Daily POS imports preserve item-level detail. Menu mix, contribution margin per dish and theoretical-vs-actual food cost are query-ready.
Pain point
Vendor invoices arrive as PDFs in an email inbox. Manager prints them, signs, hands to bookkeeper who keys them into QuickBooks two weeks later. AP aging is fiction.
How 4b2b helps
PDF vendor invoices are parsed, matched to PO and GRN, and posted automatically. Cash forecast knows what's actually due next Tuesday.
Pain point
Tip allocation across servers, bartenders and bussers — and IRS Form 8027 for tipped reporting — is a quarterly headache.
How 4b2b helps
Tip pool policies (% to support staff, tip-out by position, tip credit per state) configurable per location. 8027 numbers (gross receipts, charged tips, allocated tips) computed automatically.
Pain point
Multi-location operators consolidate P&Ls in Excel. By the time the consolidated number is right, two weeks of decisions have already been made.
How 4b2b helps
Per-location P&L refreshed daily; multi-location roll-up with prime cost benchmarking across the group.

Questions we hear most
Which POS systems do you integrate with?
Toast, Square for Restaurants, Clover, Lightspeed Restaurant and Aloha (via their public APIs). For POS systems without a public API, we ingest end-of-day export files.
Can you handle tip credit per state?
Yes. Tip credit, tipped minimum wage and tip-pool legality vary by state and 4b2b carries the state-by-state rules. The tip-pool engine respects your state's allow/disallow rules for back-of-house participation.
Do you replace my payroll provider?
No. Gusto, ADP, Paychex and Square Payroll stay in place. We export approved hours and tip allocations to them, and import the post-payroll labor cost back into the P&L.
What about catering and off-premise invoicing?
Catering invoices live alongside POS revenue as a separate revenue stream. Deposits, balance-due-on-delivery and accrual-vs-cash treatment are configurable.
