In Canada the 4b2b ecosystem offers four products under a single account: 4invoices for invoicing, 4appointments for online booking, 4notify for SMS and WhatsApp notifications, and 4hosting for servers. Below is what each one does, the Canadian rules worth knowing when you use it, and — just as important — what we do not claim to do.
Invoicing with provincial tax rates.
Tax in Canada is not one rate; it is ten. Ontario charges HST 13%, Quebec charges GST 5% plus QST 9.975%, British Columbia charges GST 5% plus PST 7%, Alberta charges GST only. In 4invoices you issue PDF invoices in CAD, keep your client list, number documents in sequence and set the tax rates that apply to each invoice, plus a payment link. 4invoices has no connection to the CRA or Revenu Québec: filing your GST/HST and QST returns stays with you or your accountant.
Bilingual matters in Quebec.
Bill 96 and the modernised Charter of the French Language require French communications with Quebec consumers. The ecosystem's interface and our Canadian pages are available in English and Canadian French, using the terms customers recognise — courriel, prendre rendez-vous, TPS, TVQ. Checking that your own documents and messages meet the Charter's requirements remains your responsibility; we do not sell compliance templates.
Where your data lives.
4hosting servers are located in the European Union, in Finland. We do not operate data centres in Canada, so we offer no Canadian data residency. Quebec Law 25 requires businesses to assess transfers of personal information outside Quebec before making them — if your sector demands data kept in Canada, factor that in before choosing our hosting.
Online appointments.
4appointments lets your clients book a time slot online, 24 hours a day, from a booking page you configure with your services, staff and hours. It suits clinics, salons, consultants and any business that runs on appointments. It is a booking tool, not a payroll or HR system: T4 slips, Records of Employment and source deductions are outside what the ecosystem does in Canada.
SMS and WhatsApp notifications.
4notify sends SMS and WhatsApp messages — reminders, confirmations, alerts — from the panel or through an API. Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) requires consent, sender identification and a working unsubscribe mechanism for commercial electronic messages. 4notify handles delivery; collecting and documenting consent under CASL is up to you.
Hosting with DevOps hours.
4hosting offers VPS, cPanel hosting, dedicated and GPU servers. Every plan includes a monthly allowance of DevOps, cybersecurity or programming hours you can request from the panel — useful when you need help configuring a server without hiring a system administrator. Hours do not carry over to the next month.
